A non-designated heritage asset located in a conservation area in Funtington, in the foothills of the South Downs National Park. Formerly two dwellings the existing property was in an extreme state of disrepair. HDS were commissioned to renovate the existing property and extend to provide modern open plan living. Our approach was to respectfully restore the existing property including the careful reconstruction of the original internal clunch wall. The exterior brick and flint walls were also carefully restored and reconstructed where necessary. The contemporary extension provides a sympathetic contrast between the original historic building and the new element. Planning Permission was also secured for a contemporary outbuilding to provide a gym and work space. We provided full services from inception through to completion.
